Spending a weekend at River Lane Ranch in Edmonton, Alberta Canada is a wonderful vacation for yourself or even the entire family to enjoy! Meeting the Gypsy Cob horse is like nothing you could ever imagine. You’ll get 3 full days with them (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and with our family.
We offer trail riding, riding lessons, fishing on the banks of the river, training clinics and so much more.
No need to worry about a thing when you spend a weekend at our ranch, all brunch, lunches, and dinners along with snacks are included.

✈️ Arrival
Fly in on Thursday to Edmonton’s, YEG International airport and we’ll be there to greet you. From there, we’ll take you straight to your beautiful 5-star hotel, located just 8 minutes from the ranch. Settle in and relax and get ready for your big weekend!
🥞 Friday
Kick off your stay with a delicious breakfast at the barn. You’ll gather around our farm tables with the entire Baird family…swapping stories, talking horses, and getting to know each other for the weekend ahead.
After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of the ranch: meet the stallions, cuddle the new foals, visit the mares, and learn how the daily rhythm of RLR works behind the scenes.

If foaling season is happening when you’re at the ranch. You may witness a foal being born, but either way you will fall in love meeting all the new babies on the Ranch. Spend as much time as you like with them and soak in all the love and cuddles they have to offer.

We have been to Mexico multiple times as well as Hawaii I can’t say I enjoyed those trips as much as I did visiting RLR. The hospitality was amazing. The Baird's were great hosts and eternally fun to be around. The Gypsy’s are unbelievable. If you're a Gypsy horse owner or wish you were it’s a must do trip, even if you just want to relax on a ranch for the weekend, it’s hard to beat.
River Lane Ranch is a great place for your mind, body and soul. It was everything I expected and more. Great family who works hard and makes you feel right at home, from their beautiful horses and babies, to their great training program. They made us feel right at home, answered any questions and there is a place for everyone from experienced riders like myself to someone who’s never ridden in their life. Could not ask for a better retreat from life’s stress! My sister and I will definitely be back! Thank you Baird Family ❤️
We had a great time on our visit. We scheduled this trip in an effort to gain insight and knowledge of the Gypsy Cob breed. The trip ended up being much more than that. Yes, it was rainy and muddy but that added a level of reality to it. We spent time with the horses, rode, round penned, learned how to properly bathe the horses, and much more. Meeting the large family and getting to know them all was a fantastic experience. If you are considering it - just do it. You won't regret it.
I'd love to tell everyone to just book it. It's an incredible experience, even for someone who isn't a rider or trainer. The ranch is beautiful and the family is amazing. The food was phenomenal and I wish the trip hadn't ended.
Pulling into Riverlane Ranch was like a dream come true. The babies and their mamas were right up front to say hello, as well as the amazing Baird Family. We were greeted with hugs and handshakes then treated to breakfast in their stunning barn. After a delicious meal, they gave us the grand tour which included snuggling the babies, their mamas, and the other beautiful horses who reside on the ranch. We broke up into groups for riding, round pen lessons, grooming demos, and fishing. The family was focused on meeting the needs/expectations of the guests. We were taught so much and shared so many fun memories. Each meal was delicious, the family mingled and ate with the guests as we shared our life stories. When we were thoroughly worn out, we were taken back to our accommodations at the hotel, which was comfortable and stunning. Then we got to do it all over again the next few days! I can honestly say I cried as we left the ranch to head home and I will consider The Bairds as lifelong friends.
