For the first time ever, River lane Ranch is booking a full private weekend experience for those who wish to come and spend a holiday with the RLR family and their stunning Gypsy cob horses.
get up close and personal and spend 3 full days and beautiful evenings at the Ranch.
Get to know the baird family, a family of first generation ranchers that are working hard to leave something behind for future generations to come.

Spending a weekend at River Lane Ranch in Edmonton, Alberta Canada is a wonderful vacation for yourself or even the entire family to enjoy! Meeting the Gypsy Cob horse is like nothing you could ever imagine. You’ll get 3 full days with them (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and with our family.
We offer trail riding, riding lessons, fishing on the banks of the river, training clinics and so much more.
No need to worry about a thing when you spend a weekend at our ranch, all brunch, lunches, and dinners along with snacks are included.
Some vacations will come and go, but a true ranch experience will make life changes that will last forever…
What to expect:
Your horse holiday starts with being picked up at the airport.
No need to rent a car, your ranch family hosts have got you covered.
First, after you fly in on Thursday or Friday morning, they’ll take you to your beautiful 5 star hotel which is just 8 minutes from the ranch. Take a moment to get settled, head over to the ranch right away or let us know when you’d like to be picked up.
Friday will start with a delicious brunch right inside the main ranch house. Sit down at the 16 person farm table with the entire Baird Family and talk all things ranching and horses.
Next you’ll receive a tour of the entire ranch, meet the new babies with their mammas along with the stallions, and of course learn how everything moves and flows at RLR.
Saturday you could be out trail riding, receive some lessons, watch a training session, take in a clinic, spend some time with the new foals, or even experience what it’s like to bath a Gypsy Cob. The best part is you get to customize your personal horse holiday and spend a weekend with the Bairds themselves.
Saturday evening you’ll enjoy a bonfire and of maybe even some Karaoke and two stepping by the fire.
Sunday will be another day filled with activities and all things horses and ranching.
We promise it’ll be a weekend to remember!
Head out on the trails with the Baird Family and experience first hand what it’s like to ride one of the most quiet and well mannered horses in the world.
Foaling season is happening when you’re at the ranch. You may witness a foal being born, but either way you will fall in love meeting all the new babies on the Ranch. Spend as much time as you like with them and soak in all the love and cuddles they have to offer.
An amazing experience to share with the entire family. River Lane Ranch is a place for making memories, sharing what life is like on a real horse ranch, and learning all things Gypsy Cob horses.

No need to worry about a thing when you spend a weekend at our ranch, all accommodations are just 8 mins away from the ranch, brunches, lunches, and dinners along with snacks are included.

Once you arrive, your wallet stays in your pocket, and we make sure that everything is taken care of for you (The only thing not included in your stay is any shopping you’d like to do off the ranch).
The only decisions you have to make, are whether or not to wipe the dust off your boots before dinner and if you want whip cream on your apple pie!

Winter Vacations
Join us for some winter fun!
Experience a Winter Wonderland with the Gypsy Cobs!
This amazing winter wonderland vacation at river lane ranch is for those who already own gypsy cob/vanner horses or want to own them.
Specific to this breed, you’ll spend your entire week at river lane ranch learning, laughing, and having an amazing time with the baird family.
Your week of activities will include :
- Learn ground training & round pen lessons.
- Experience riding lessons (Beginner and advanced horses available).
- Learn foal/weanling handling and steps to set up yourself up for success with young horses.
- You’ll learn all about our grooming, bathing, and our clipping regime.
- Learn feeding, care, nutrients and a mineral program specific to Gypsy Cobs.
- Learn about foaling, breeding, and equine reproductive health specific to the Gypsy Cob horses.
- Struggling with saddle fit? No problem! You’ll learn tack specific to this breed. Saddle fitting, bridles etc.
- Learn about horse photography/videography and experience a photo shoot with one of the RLR horses with our ranch photographer Maureen Noce. (Additional costs will apply)
- Learn about Healing with Horses and how this program can be implemented with your own Farm/Ranch herd.
- Take a trip to our local tack shops and western attire stores.
- Experience the magic and beauty of a true Canadian winter wonderland.

Spend a beautiful ranch dinner with us on Sunday around the 16-person farm table with the entire Baird Family. Talk all things ranching and horses. Learn how our story began, and tell us about yourself.
Monday you’ll dive right into the learning and lessons that they’ve got planned for you.
Throughout the week you’ll meet all of the RLR herd and learn the exact ins and outs of the RLR program from top to bottom.
This will help you set up your own program and answer any and all questions you have.
This winter wonderland vacation is specifically designed for those who have Gypsy Cob/Vanner horses, or who want them and wish to gain as much knowledge and insight into the breed as they can.
